I don't know, but to have 5 months off every year to campaign every other year just seems like it dosn't work any more.jim pillsburyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01372814672050316477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8517736040315331529.post-87091060706212103152018-08-22T13:54:01.336-04:002018-08-22T13:54:01.336-04:00we should have volunteer legislators. Everyone ge...we should have volunteer legislators. Everyone gets a shot at serving, and they are doing it for the right reason which is not because of the paycheck or the public exposure. We have lost sight of what the Constitution envisioned our legislators to be. We need to get back to that with of course some adjustments for the fact is is now 375 years later.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8517736040315331529.post-88261993323438100012018-08-22T11:13:04.324-04:002018-08-22T11:13:04.324-04:00You may be right that it should not be a full tim...You may be right that it should not be a full time job but I think it currently is. We should have a state rep whose only job is the one of being a legislator. That being said I agree that much of what happens on the Hill is useless and a waste of time. We as the voters need to take action to stop this. We can not expect the legislators to make a change themselves. We have grown lax at holding them accountable here in MA. As long as we allow it, it will continue. Took a long time for things to get this bad, it is going to take several election cycles where we elect new people who agree with our positions to fix it.

People who work for the state here in MA are not held accountable. Look at the woman at the MEs office who lied about her education. Did she lose her job? Of course not, this is MA! Would you or I have lost our job if we lied about our education? Of course we would. Private business holds their workers accountable. Time that the state does the same.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
