A Dinosaur wants to be Mayor

Source reported today Charlie Sisitsky is running for Mayor. Although he is still talking with prominent democrats in Town and his potential financial backers, he hasn't pulled papers yet as it's still early.

I wonder who among the want-to-be's have thought about running or not. I can't imagine no one else would want to try. And what does it mean if John, George, Adam and Charlie are too face off in a primary.

Why in the world would we go back to the stone age and elect someone who has helped preserve the status quo for years and years. Just remember what it was like with the Council 1.0 and the former elected officials that got on the council.  It would be akin to electing Giombetti, Richardson, Rossi or Stoll imo.

You are right on with everything you say. We need someone younger but with experience at managing a very large budget and great HR skills, both of which the current Mayor and Mr. Sisitsky lack. Before any of us vote we had better think about what needs to change here with our electeds because this is not wo

Charlie has a lot of skills that I think would be beneficial to the city, but he is part of the old guard and I don’t think that old guard did a good job. Charlie should be our COO, but we need a mayor with no ties to any of the previous administrations, including selectmen. We changed our form of government, and to make that work we need to change who we elect. We have far too many people on the city council who were former selectmen, TM members, heads of Zoning and planning. They have skills, but they are the old school. We don’t want the old school, that is why we voted to become a city. There are several people in Framingham not part of any prior administration who have shown over the last few years and that is who we should be looking at. I believe one of those new stars is well known to you Jim.

You can’t pull papers until June so this is just the first of what I suspect will be many who consider running. The danger is that if too many run, they divide the vote against the mayor and give her the primary win. I would rather have a choice between two new candidates myself. The mayor is not someone I would even consider voting for again.

He would not be my first choice but I would vote for him over the current mayor, John, or Dennis

I think Charlie would make a wonderful Mayor. He has the skill set and temperament to be a strong and successful leader of our city. He has my vote

The issues facing Framingham are serious and not new. No one who has been involved in the bad decisions that got us here should be elected ever again if you’ve been paying attention none of those Jim mentioned will get your vote

Who in their right mind would want the job? The salary will be cut and yet they get to inherit all the problems of this fledgling city with all of the vitriol and negative attacks that go with it and very little thanks, if any. Who hates themselves enough to both put themselves through what will undoubtedly be a rough campaign and then to take on all the nonsense of the job if elected?
