The field of canidates grows larger.. still
While it is disappointing not to see Joe Kennedy run, did anyone catch the salary he makes at his non profit? 535,000.00, your not making that in the Senate. Joe chickened out... for his own reasons and that's that.
The list of want-to-be's is still growing on the D senate side, Mihos has switched again and said he will run for Governor and not for the Senate, Baker is in on the R side, with perhaps Brown and a former Bush aid form Holbrook perhaps running to fill Ted's seat.
And then there's Cahill, who is bucking the system and running as the independent. Perhaps he could be the anointed leader of a movement to take back the State House in 2010.
Millions and millions will be spent from now till the elections next year and the majority of money raised will not come from working class, it will come from big business and special interests.
We will get, what they pay for.

Are you saying you support Cahil now Pillsbury? Didn’t you rip him apart just a few months ago for his involvement with that lottery deal? Are you turning into a flip flop like the rest of them?
No endorsement here Michael
He's an insider who doesn't stand a chance as an insider D for Gov.
But he's the only one who is running as an independent and could stand out as neither a D or a R in any attempt to take the power back from the majority on Beacon Hill.
Mihos lost my vote when he could not decide which title he wants in front of his name, governor or senator. Coakley is not worth the ink to put a check next to her name. I have yet to see a candidate enter the race who I could get excited about voting for. An era has ended here in MA and the only people stepping up to lead the new era are vultures picking on the bones of the dead leader from the last era. What does that say about MA politicians? Are you supporting anyone yet Jim?
I'll wait for the deadline for candidates.... maybe a dark horse will appear.
I doubt that Kennedy does or does not take any job based on the salary he earns. After all he is a Kennedy. I think it is a shame no one from that family will run for this seat. The good will and respect hard won by the late Senator would likely have transferred to someone in his family much faster than to a new comer. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Being registered as undeclared or independent does not make you independent. Cahil is playing the system to his benfit. To think otherwise is to be niave. The money that will be spent on this campaign could feed a small country. There has to be a better way to level the playing field, making it possible for people who are not wealthy to run for office.
