Vote on Tuesday. DeLeo's fund raising party

If you want our Town to continue on it's merry way of going along to get along, then vote for the incumbents for selectman. If you think that it's time for a small change in the leadership of this Town, vote the incumbents out. It's as simple as that. But please take the time to vote.

Last week DeLeo held his annual fund raiser and guess who was there, lining the pockets of the ruling party? The gambling interests and their supporters. We won't know how much money, over the 2 million already given to DeLeo, Murray and Patrick, because, once again, the legislator made sure, in the last years ethics reforms, that they did not have to report donations until September. And while this may seem irrelevant now, the millions spent by the lobbyists will not be good for anyone, except those on the take.

Look for the usual dysfunctional, closed door meetings that will stall any attempt at moving forward casino gambling. With hundreds of amendments already in the Q, from the absolutely absurd to the kingdom making agencies that will make sure, they get their share of the pie. Look for this to drag out to July.

I hope the Indians beat them to the punch.

Don’t forget to vote today everyone. Esty, Sisitsky are both vulnerable and this may be the best time ever to get the old timers out and get some fresh new ideas on the board. These chances only come once in a while, so make the best of it. Mahoney and Wolfe are about as different as two people can be, but fresh blood on the BOD of Selectmen could be just what this town needs.

Vote for Pillsbury in Precint #6 as your town meeting member. Nice to see you taking an active role in the town government Jim. Hope to see some great things from you for the good of all of Framingham.

I am willing to bet some of the townies from Framingham were at these fund raisers. You say vote for the new options. Mahoney is the Democratic Committee Chair for Framingham, not sure he can qualify as a new option. Wolfe is just too argumentative and stubborn to be able to work with the rest of the committee, so what can he accomplish? Vote for who can get things done and for change. I think everyone probably will agree that Framingham is going in the wrong direction, and change is what we need.

None of the options for Selectmen are really good. But I can not vote for the same people who have gotten us to this position. Roads in town are a mess, schools are hurting for funding, and every department is facing huge cuts. I think we need people who are better equiped to handle this type of situation. The incumbents have served a long time, when the economy was good, and they don’t have the skills to deal with the economic downturn. They sure did not get the town ready for it. I think we have to vote them out, even if the options are not good ones. At least we can try something new.

All politicians are corrupt, and if you are a new politicians, you will be corrupt soon. So lets get some new blood in there and take advantage of that short window of time before they become one of the good old boys and forget all the things they promised in order to get elected. So vote for the new candidates and then get what we can out of them quick before they turn into the old candidates.
