The last days of this election season

For those of you who want to ask a question of the candidates this Monday night (at 7 to 8PM), please forward them to moderator John Xenakis at john@GenerationalDynamics.com, or call in that night 508 875 1846.

As many of you already know, the League of partisan voters has canceled their candidates night last week. No other group in Town has stepped forward to bring any voter attention to this race. The hapless, partisan Metro West Daily News, who usually does a candidates night long before the election has has all of a sudden arranged a candidates night for next Thursday evening at the main library from 7 to 8 pm.

If anyone who has followed this blog for the past two years and wants to support me as a candidate for State Rep, you have the opportunity to write a note to Rick Holmes at the Metro West Daily News. They will publish the letters in Sundays paper before the election. His mail address is 33 New York Ave, Framingham Ma 01701 or e mail at rholmes@cnc.com.

Here are the rules:

➤ Use your letter to state the reasons why you support a single candidate, not more than one.

➤ All letters must be signed. Please include a full address and a phone number.

➤ Letters must be no more than 150 words. Letters that run longer will be cut or discarded.

➤ Letters must be received by noon on Thursday, Oct. 28, for inclusion in the Oct. 31 edition.

This is a waste of time. The only people who write in for these things are the party loyalists. No one else bothers. I would expect a slew of letter for Walsh, and very few for the other 2 candidates. All that tells me is that Walsh really is a member of the party that is the problem here in this state.

I agree with Junior. This is just a way for the paper to support the democrats. No one else bothers to write these letters, because who cares? I support Pillsbury, no need to write a letter about it.

Caught you on the debate last night. You are the better candidate by far, and anyone who catches that show will know that. I was undecided until seeing that, but you earned my vote last night. Hope you stay the course and do what you say you will.

If being niave means beleive in the rights of the people to be heard, then I think we need more niave politicians. Who the hell does Walsh think he is, some experienced politician? Afraid not Mr.Walsh. Your experience is not something that will be of any help in the state house, and you know that. The reason you have suddenly started talking about how often you have "visited the state house" to observe and learn how things are done is because you realize Pillsbury has you on the experience issue. You have none, he has lots. I would have respected you more if you were honest about it, but instead, you try and paint a picture of yourself as someone with experience. Jim beats you hands down in that department, and may I also say he beat you hands down in the debate last night. Nice work Jim. You kept your cool, stayed on point, and answered the questions that were asked instead of talking about what you wanted to talk about, and we, the voters, noticed and appreciated that. Keep up the good work.

There are 2 legitimate candidates for the 6th middlesex seat, and the only complaint I have about last nights show is that we did not have more time to listen to those 2. The other nutcase should not have been included. All he did was take up time. I was undecided until last night, but if I was voting right now, Pillsbury would have my vote. He knows his stuff, answer the tough questions honestly, and is one of us, the working class of Framingham. Walsh strikes me as an elitist, and that is not a match for the majority of Framingham residents. I think Walsh or Pillsbury could do a decent job, I just think Pillsbury has the back bone and the experience to do a better job. You have my vote Jim.

I think this is going to be a close race, and I think Rizoli is going to spoil it for Pillsbury. There are enough nut cases in this town who will vote for him, and those are votes that Pillsbury would have had otherwise. Up until last night, I thought Rizoli would take enough votes to prevent you from winning Jim. But after watching your performance on the debate last night, I think you may beat Walsh in spite of Rizoli, at least I hope you do. Good luck Jim and you have my vote on Nov. 2nd

After watching last night I think you may actually have a chance of beating Walsh. Who would have thunk it. The proverbial pot head serving in the state house. About time if you ask me.

Nice job last night Jim. I hope lots of people watched, or will watch when rebroadcast. I think your performance last night could win this for you.

Can't wait to see what you say here about the SMOC settlement. Do you think maybe the selectmen were afraid that people might actually think your suggestions that they all resign was a good idea, so they decided to settle it before that happened? I think that may have been part of the decision process.

Thank you all for your very supportive posts. I really do appreciate your sincerity. It makes me work harder.

If Town Meeting is still going on Thursday, I will not be at the
Library debate on Thursday... after all, I was elected to represent you and is my duty to do so.

I hope all of you would understand my commitment to Town Meeting... as bad and good as it is.
