Concert's on the Common
As those of you who live in and around Framingham know, Jim Egan and his crew have put on Concerts on the Green for years and is now in danger of not doing any concerts this summer because of funding. It costs a fair amount of money to sponsor these free events and I'm posting this as a way for us to help, (if you are employed) keep this great event going. Checks can be made out to Town of Framingham Concert Fund and mailed to Jim Egan at the Town Hall. This is one of this Town's great free family outdoor events that all of us can appreciate. I'm in for 100.00 but every donation counts.

Great idea Jim. I will send a check in support of this myself today. Thanks for letting us know about this. Will we see the Victory Bank on the common this summer?
FR,
We are now playing or I should say, practicing every Saturday. We have a new acoustic guitar player, who is excellent and fits our style very well. We were planing on doing another album of original songs but lost our songwriter recently.
We will be doing a block party here on my road in May and perhaps we will do a gig on the Common later in the summer. We won't be quitting our day jobs but hope to be as good as we were when Grave was the front man.
Thanks for the support, it's a great venue and it reminds me of the old days when music was free to listen to.
If I get to see the Victor Band again, then I can kick in a few bucks. Not $100, but something. Better to get $1 from 100 people than just 1 interested person contributing $100. But before I donate, one question. If they don't get enough money for these concerts to be reinstated, where does the money I donate go? Answer that and I will send me check off today.
Happy to contribute also, but would like the answer to Abby's question before we do that. Any ideas on that Mr. Pillsbury?
Abby, Linda, George,
My thinking is that if they get some funding from us...in check form, but may not cash it until they have enough commitments. Some commercial interests, a bank or two will kick in some, as they have in the past. I just called Jim Egan to verify what will happen to the funds. Hold your checks until I hear from him.
Good questions you guys... I never thought of it.
All,
I sopke with Jim Egan, and he tells me if they don't use the money, they will send it back.
