Calling all Vietnam Veterans who served from 1955 to 1975



On New Years Eve, Dec 31st from 5 to 7 PM at the Vietnam Memorial Statue, MWRTA headquarters at 15 Blandin Ave in Framingham. This is a national initiative and its purpose is to recognize and thank and honor United States military veterans who served during the Vietnam War. Regardless of location, any US Veteran who served from Nov 1 1955 to May 15th of 1975 are eligible to receive one lapel pin. Members of the Vietnam Memorial Monument along with State and local officials from the 15 communities covered by the MWRTA will be in attendance. There will be light refreshments. Bring your DD14. Great to see this happening. Saw it posted on Framingham Source. Why isn't the VSO doing this event I wonder?

yeah... you would think, but he doesn't want to show any support for this.. believe me, I asked him. I couldn't let this honoring of Nam Vets be ignored. This ceremony should have happened the same day of the unveiling of the Vietnam Veterans Statue. I was at the Taunton pinning this summer. It was very emotional for the recipients and everyone there.

I'd like to thank all of the Nam Vets who showed up and to welcome you all home. The ceremony was well attended given the short notice. I did the best I could to get the word out. I was proud of them all.

The MWDN were making pictures... but no story. It would have made the day of a few if their stories were told.
