Patch published this today.

Framingham is number 102. All of the places before us who are much smaller than us in terms of population. But it does speak volumes about of City.. we are a safe place to live and work. Not as safe as Wayland... but who cares.
Have a looksee.

weren't we the safest community in the country just a few years ago? what happened to that?
We were. That study included the number police vs crime as their data points. And back then we had a little over 100 or so on the force as I remember. Thanks that recall, I forgot about that study.
So we are in far worse shape than we were when that pevious study was done? Why is that or are they using different statistics?
Overall crime has been dropping for the past 6 years or so nationally and in Framingham.
The fact that we continue to add more cops to the force has little to do with reducing crime but more about maintaining troop strength when so many call in sick or on vacation or otherwise not available to work. The other study used the amount of cops on the force per the population and crime stats to arrive at their conclusion that Framingham was one of the safest Towns to live in.
