Where is Chief Hicks?
Not much in the way of reporting from anyone on why Chief Hicks is out on paid leave. I hadn't heard that he got hurt in his office or at a fire. I hope he is not ill, but the Mayor has temporarily appointed the second in command.

The Mayor's release said he was out on FMLA, family medical leave. Seems pretty clear that he or someone in his family is sick. Why are you implying there is some other reason?
not implying anything. Just wondering if he got hurt somewhere.
The reason he is out is for FMLA, not a work injury. Don't try to make more of this than there is. It is a case of him taking time off for health reasons, either his or a member of his families. Why are you trying to make this an issue to look into?
Thanks for the clarity. With so many public safety personal out for various reasons, I was just curious if he had gotten hurt on the job, nothing more. Many times we hear weeks and months later or not at all, why someone is out for an extended period of time.
