The House passes Health Care...... by a thread

So by now all of us have heard the news.. the House narrowly approved a watered down version of the Health Care. Who knows how many versions there really are. While not looking to create debate over what is good or bad for us.. as consuming Americans, I'd like to share some facts about the money being spent.

The current number of lobbyists in Washington stands around 13,000. From CNN we learn about a report from http://www.opensecrets.org/that on average, over the past 20 years, members of the house were given 473,000 by those who are for Health Care reform and 502,000 from those against it. Now the Senate where all the different ideas are supposed to boil down to one, before Jan 1, are getting on average even more, no matter the party. Yesterday on public news, it was announced that the lobbying costs are at a million dollars a day.

And consider that Obama, over the next ten years, wants to help pay for Health Care by squeezing out 500 BILLION in Medicare fraud, I wonder how many people is this country are left. Everybody in their brother, including criminals, gangs, cheats, medical suppliers, Health Care companies, drug companies, insurance companies, medical equipment manufactures, etc etc etc are against health care reform. There is so much at stake... and it's all about greed.

It's all to obscene and under our noses. Look for few to be really happy with whatever plan they come up with. And if Health Care is passed, look for other important projects, like jobs and the environment to take center stage.

If all these number are accurate, which I a sure they are from Jim, then the hell with reform, let's just stop the fraud and the payments to lobbyist and that would allow the cost of insurance to come down and leave enough left to offer an affordable option for everyone. These numbers are unbeleivable.

Anyone really understand what the new healthcare policy is going to be? The document is 2000 pages long. How can any of us understand it when we don’t have time to read it? Jim, have you seen the proposal in its entirety? Any insight you can share with us? I have heard a bunch of horror tales about what is going to happen, and a bunch of good things. I figure the truth is somewhere in the middle, but not sure where that middle actually is. Is it going to cost me more to insure my family, and am I going to be able to get treatment when I need it, and is medicare going to still exist when I am no longer able to get insurance from my employer? Simple questions, but I can not get a straight answer on that from anyone.

You got lots of things right here, but especially when you say this is obscene. The money we are spending on health care is out of control. When I hear that so much is going to lobbyists, then I realize it is not because medical costs are soaring, or because docs are making a killing. Money paid for medical care is being spent by the people we pay it to on lobbyists to insure that the execs at these companies get more money. Meanwhile, they tell us they can not afford on more reasonable option for poor people to get coverage. How can this type of thing happen and we never do anything about it? If the new healthcare plan fixes that piece alone, it is worth whatever it costs.

More spending of money we don’t have. Our health care costs are going to be covered by the Chinese at this rate. How does that sound to all of you people voting for the idiots arguing over this plan?

JJ,

I've not read any of the 1900 page document and if I had the time and could understand all that was written, I feel sure it would make me sicker than I am now over this.

The Senate may come up with so many amendments, that it may not look at all like the House version. So many Senators have already dug in their heals and will not budge.

And today we learn that the Unions have spent 20 million dollars to lobby, of which 93% went to Democrtic congressman to make sure that the high end health care plans are not taxed.

All's fair in love and the healthcare debate.
