Beacon Hill tries to delay Q4

Earlier today it was reported that Beacon Hill, specifically Senator Lewis pushed through a bill that would delay implementation of Q4 by 6 months. It makes no sense to do this, especially since there were just a hand full of Reps and Senators on the Hill. Senator Lewis clearly is a sore looser and will try anything he can to slow down the implementation of Q4.

And by the afternoon, this happened.

http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/news/20161228/as-pot-law-delay-bill-is-rushed-to-his-desk-gov-plans-to-review-it

Senator Lewis rushed the bill to the Governors office and they now say, Governor Baker will review it. If he wants to continue to be the most popular Governor if decades, he should veto the bill. If he wants to stand up for the will of the voter, he will veto it.

Please send a note to Governor Baker asking him to veto Lewis's Bill and stand up for the will of the voters.

here's another address to send to:  goffice@state.ma.us

And it won't hurt to ask your reps if they voted for it as well. To my delight Chris Walsh and Karen Spilka did not vote for it.

The MWDN did an excellent editorial regarding this.

The Governor's e mail has been shut down... thanks to all who have sent him a message

Tomorrow on the steps of the State House at High noon, members of MassCann Norml will be standing against the delay.

I'm working on a picket line in front of Lewis's house in Winchester and Baker's house in Swampscott. Anyone interested, please contact me.

They cannot get away with this act of treason.

What you need are some regular people to stand out there with signs, so you need to do it when it is not regular work hours. Otherwise it comes across as a bunch of pot heads who don't work and just don't want their drug supply shut down.

the weekend would be the best, when Charlie and Jason are in their homes

Charlie and Jason will be out and about celebrating the holiday this weekend, not at home like those of us who are not rich. Come on, you need to hit them when it will get the most notice and press, not on a holiday weekend with lots of other stories competing for air time

Governor signed this bill today. So much for an elected official who represents the will of the voter. You can picket all you want, but the only thing these power hungry blowhards understand is the voting box. I voted for Baker before, and was pretty much satisfied with his performance, but I gotta say that the fact he completely ignored the direction the voters gave him on this issue raises concerns about his willingness to be responsive on other issues. Won't be voting for him again I can tell you
