Another hard liner changes his mind
In a stunner I read in the Globe today that former speaker Boehner has come to the realization that there's money to be made in the cannabis industry. He has evidently seen the light after a friend of his had a serious back problem along with veterans suffering from PTSD and used cannabis for relief. Amen. He now sits on the BOD of a large cannabis company Acreage who has 35 licenses in the US. He is joined by former Mass Governor and VP candidate Bill Weld. Boehner goes on the say, that our system of justice has incarcerated millions of non violent people for marijuana offenses. It's take decades for some to realize but just like here in Mass, former prosecutors are now in the game and see the potential of taxing and regulating cannabis as a good thing for their own pockets.

Do you think any of the uninformed idiots on the Framingham Task Force saw this article? I doubt it. From the way they spoke, I don't think any of them have read an academic or scientific magazine or article in the last 30 years at least. it is so sad that Framingham is being led by people who still live in the past and are not informed about anything that has happened in the last 20 years, and I suspect the rest of the city council is not much better.
I'm with ya.. and your supposition is correct, none of them have looked past their own nose to be better educated. Rossi and company didn't even have the State Regs. And the out-of-townees didn't know anything about the history of this in Framingham.
To much power in a few hands. Thanks to the Legislature for repealing and replacing the Ballot Question 4 after it was voted on. They brought this mess to Framingham, all 122 of them who voted for it to be repealed and replaced. They all suck.
A story in the Globe today said Boston has approved more than 50 license applications. But Framingham wants to delay approving any. Why would any company that wants to get into this business wait 6 more months to open up their business only to have Framingham set ridiculous rules? People will travel, and will establish connections with other shops that are open and running long before Framingham gets their heads out of their assess and sets the rules. Do we really think that our city government is smarter than Boston’s city government? The first indicator that they are not is that Boston got this figured out in time to meet the opening date for shops, and Framingham still needs 6 months to figure it out. To me, that says we think a lot slower than those in Boston due, and it also tells me that Framingham’s elected officials are on the wrong side of yet another issue. When are we going to learn that we are not Hopkinton, or Weston, or Duxbury. We are Framingham, and I personally live here because I want to live in a diverse community. These losers on our City Council want to make Framingham like these high end communities, because none of them are smart enough to make enough money to live on one of them
