Did you see the Flag Day Parade?

If you did, you were in the minority. Even from last year, the spectators were few are far between. The League marched with just a few members, others couldn't because they are running for office. The cops didn't show, but there were cops from Ashland blocking the side streets. I assume we had to pay them a minimum of 4 hours at 30 or 40.00 an hour.
This once mighty and entertaining community wide event has lost it's luster and curb appeal. And lets face it, some of the residents along Union Ave are strangers to our history and customs and may not have been here 10 or 20 years ago when the majority of residents looked forward to the Flag Day parade, put on by the Veterans.

For some reason the Framingham Source was more interested in writing about what people were wearing than reporting on the parade. The mayor was wearing a black and white dress. What were you wearing Jim, that didn't make the story.

Actually source made a picture of MK Feeney and myself carrying the League banner. I was in my POW MIA regalia as I was last year.
