Allston Multimodal Project Public Information Meeting
For our readers who brave the Pike or take the train in... please be aware of the major changes in your commute starting in 2020 and lasting years. Some think tanks are sounding the alarm over the proposed reduction in lanes to travel on but also trains tracks. I don't see how you expect more people to take the train when you cut the amount of trains that will be able to enter the city from the west. Steph has 1.5hr commute in (on a good day) and a little over that getting home. Throw in a breakdown or accident and it's 2 hours easy. Could the commute be double that each way every day? I've asked the Mayor's office to have media service broadcast and record the meeting as it does effect thousands of residents, not to mention businesses who rely on getting into the city to service their customers.
Allston Multimodal Project Public Information Meeting - Framingham

They better cover this on Gov. Access. Isn't that what they get paid to do? Why do you even have to ask them to do it!
Government access is a joke in Framingham. Look at what other towns/cities cover via government access and then look at what Framingham covers. There is a world of difference and Framingham is not doing anywhere near what other communities are doing.
With elections coming up is Gov Access going to broadcast debates?
at 3:30 today I got this from Sandra in Facilities:
The Allston Multimodal Project meeting in the Blumer Room will be televised tonight.
E mails to Ron Rego were sent back as he's out until Jul 22nd.
Hi There,
Thanks for the email. I am out of the office right now and will not return until July 22nd.
Fortunately for you, our resources never take time off.
www.FraminghamTV.com contains information on many of our most frequently asked questions, including current program schedules, video on demand and the ability to live stream our broadcasts I think you will enjoy.
I'll get back to you as soon as I am back in the office.
Thanks for Watching!
Ron J. Rego
I have to ask... because people ask me... and I'm always in doubt about what he does cover and what he doesn't. In the past few years, he and his boss COO Keezer have said they only broadcast shows that are sponsored by the City government. We had to struggle to get permission to use the great room and have it broadcast live for the debates.
This is a Mass DOT sponsored dog and pony show that needs to be seen by all of our residents who travel to the City. My hope is we do the upcoming debates in the Blumer Room and have Gov TV broadcast them.
Don’t we as taxpayers pay for government access? If we do, we should be demanding a refund. They suck
Who oversees the government tv channel, and who determines what they will cover and what they won’t cover? Seems the mayor or district council should have some oversite, or at least someone should
If COO Keezer is responsible for government access then we are shit out of luck. he can't stay on top of what the mayor is responsible for. expecting him to be responsible for another completely separate entity is a bit ridiculous don't you think
Gov TV is managed by the IT Department. Years ago, it was managed by the past Town Manager's and the BOS. They make their own rules, ignore viewers complaints, industry standards for quality of broadcasts and have for more than a decade, made sub-par broadcasts. They still won't record the Conservation Committee meetings that happen every other month.
The money comes from cable companies and Gov Access gets about 300,000.00 a year from all three cable providers.
so since we are not paying for it do we have any say in what the cover? seems elections stuff and things like this mass pike meeting are no brainers for them to cover
true... but those in power fear other groups will demand to have their meetings broadcast. The Mayor or COO could make the process easier for us at the League if they wanted to.
so it's on cable Comcast 99, RCN 13/HD613, Verizon 42 and should be streamed live I assume on the framingham Gov web site
It was a packed house last night. How about that sound...the producers didn't fix it until 45 minutes into the program. At least the sound was ok for those who were in the room. I will post the url for those who didn't see it last night when it is loaded to the Framingham web site..
What I didn't see last night was a traffic study and what the expected drive time would be to get into the city.
Thirteen years is a long time for this project and it certainly is a massive undertaking. I predict mass retirements for those who are of retirement age as the project begins in 2020 or 2021.
