Last night's marathon council meeting
To many highlights to mention, but the diversity officer position is still in the air, along with the clasification and salary. The council is correct in saying the Mayor had a full year to make this happen, instead, she waits until 3 weeks before the budget is to be approved.
This budget cycle, much like last years, wasn't vetted well and in fairness, the council finance sub-committee didn't have much time to deep dive into each division as Ways and Means used to.
I think we were promised that accountability by the charter supporters, but I've yet to see it.
Dennis had to pull the plug at 11 pm, so the B3 zoning is on tap for the next meeting. The diversity position and all it's supporters and detractors sucked the air out of the room.

You know its going to be a crazy meeting when Stoll's behavior is worse than Cannon's.
Maybe Jimbo can direct her to a good doobie shop help chill her out.
What was said in the audience that got everybody in a ruckus? Cheryl starts having a fight with woman from the audience about them fighting on facebook? Even something seems to be said when Mike Cannon starts talking. I can't hear it on the video, but he doesn't look pleased.
I believe it's a school committee member and a parent who are supporting the diversity officer. Nothing to date has caused so much division on the council as this diversity hire. How funny is that?
Funny one Jim! But I dont understand what you are saying about the SC member and parent. Did they do something at the meeting or are you talking about something else?
My thought was Cheryl making reference to a SC member and a parent in her rant. I wasn't there so I rely on the replay. I could be wrong but clearly Cheryl was calling someone out over comments made on another social media platform is how I see it.
Elected officials need to fall back and not carry on silly debates on social media platforms and the City Council should stop the infighting some day and actually do things, like pass policies.
