Remember the Flagg report... it's in

I didn't get a chance to view the City Council meeting of 2 weeks ago when Chief Trask explained the results of the infamous Flagg report. A few facts jumped out while watching. The detail rate of pay is 57 dollars an hour. Is it any wonder why we are short staffed most of the time for any given shift. The OT rate is 32.00 dollars an hour. Another tidbit was that officers are allowed to choose whether their wear a bullet proof vest. I don't get that at all.
The question still remains, was that Flagg report worth 20K? Did it accomplish what the Mayor wanted to know? The cop unions want the SWAT Team back along with the street crimes unit, both of which are specialty groups which pull regular officers from the day to day operations. No more SWAT Teams in my opinion.

Have a look at the meeting with the Chief

I would like to know what actions the city took as a result of that report or did we just waste 20k?

Did I imagine it or did Trask appear very belligerent and defendive?

Encounters like the one on this tape are the reason George King will get my vote

In light of the recent drug task force incident that has gone viral and paired a pretty poor picture of at least one of our officers there are clearly issues in our PD that need to be addressed with or without the Flagg report but who exactly has the authority to address those issues Jim

Having never read this Flagg report I am curious about what conclusions it reached and what changers it called for. As to bringing back the SWATTeam you have got to be kidding!! Whose decision is that do we can voice our opposition to bringing that back

Given the actions of the officer in the recent drug raid video where he threatens to shoot the family pet it is clear our Framingham officers learn dnothing from the death of Mr Stamps. Bringing the SWAT team back is a recipie for disasters until we train and manage the officers to prevent these egregious mistakes

I'm waiting for the Mayor to release the report. I have it on PDF but is to long to post here. As soon as the press release goes out I will post the url for all to read.

I did see the Chief get defensive. I was surprised to see Giombetti calling on the Union rep for comment. I think that was unfair.

I suspect it will be a long wait for the public to actually be able to see this report. Jim, can you give us a synopsis of what it says since you are one of the few who have seen this?
