"Move to strike the last word"

If anyone has been watching the hearing today, please say why you think the two party control is doing us any good.
I'm shocked at what they are doing... ingoring the plain facts and not willing to acept the truth.
Why have we let them do this to our country?

It is long past time to do something about this logger jam we call Congress. They accomplish nothing more than pointing fingers at whoever is across the aisle from them. No one even bothers to think anymore about the facts. Horrible.

This has been brewing for years, and the election of a president who does not see the need to reach across the divide to those of the other political party has just made it worse. Gone are the days of Kennedy and McCain working together. Gone are the days of doing what is best for the country. All anyone cares about now is getting re-elected, and that is because there is no other jobs that offer the same pay and benefits as being a congressperson. How do we stop this? For one thing, we institute term limits and make them all go back to working real jobs before the power and benefits corrupt them completely

"Accept the truth"? Whose truth? They are all useless and the media has become absolutely untrustworthy in reporting on either side.

They spent about 13 hours on this yesterday. We all know this is never going to pass the Senate, even though it is pretty clear the president is obstructing justice by now allowing the witnesses they wanted to testify to do so. So all this time in the House is not going to accomplish anything. With all the other issues this country is facing, many due to the actions of our sitting president, I have to ask what they are hoping to accomplish here?

History was made today with the vote on both articles of impeachment.
I think was accomplished was to show Americans and the rest of the world that we are a country of laws and no one is above them.
The full House will vote next week as I understand it, then the Senate. The Senate leader has already had meetings with the Presidents legal team, which seems inappropriate. I'm hoping to see Republican Senators take the side of the constitution and keep politics out of the debate.
I hope the Senate gets to question the three amigos under oath.

I agree with what Jim says here. We had to do this to show the world that we do not condone the actions of our president. If the Senators want to look the other way, that will impact their reputations on the world stage so hopefully they will be thinking about that when it reaches the senate for a vote. And yes I do think it is unethical for the Senate leader to be talking to the presidents legal team. But then everything about this mess that involves the president or his people has been unethical if you ask me

So Biden did nothing wrong? He sells us out to get his son out of a jam, Trump pushes for an investigation, and we see this impeachment circus?

I don't agree with Trump on some things. But under him, I have felt much safer from terrorist attack, my retirement money is going good, unemployment is pretty low, he is trying to secure our borders, and he's fixed up NAFTA - so I don't see him is as the bogey man that he has been made out to be.

News media has been trying to crucify trump since Hillary’s loss. Don’t trust them at all. I think trump is ok.

I have to ask the last few posters a few questions. Just to be clear, are you saying that you think the actions of Trump on the phone call with the Ukraine President were acceptable and did not in any way cross any line? I am no asking if you think Biden was without error, just asking if you think the President's action were without error? Second question. Do you believe that Trump's refusal to allow his employees to testify before Congress was a viable act, not one in violation of the Constitution? If you answer yes to that, would you care to explain how refusal to produce witnesses is fair and just, and how would you feel if you were suing someone and they were allowed to refuse to allow testimony from anyone who could support your claims?

The economy, our security, our border enforcement are not the things Trump is on trial for. Let's stick to those things when discussing impeachment.

I really truly believe, if witnesses are subpoenaed and show up and answer under oath, any doubts of the validity of what was in question on the call, will be made clear. The proof's already in on the obstruction of congress, I hope we could agree on that point.

Now it's in the hands of the negotiators from both sides to come up with the rules of the Senate trial. I think the country would be better served by hearing from those who are a part of the President's inner circle.
