Various pandemic news

WCBV-TV reported long lines at our Stop & Shop at 6AM this morning. As you may have heard, S&S is opening the store early for seniors only 6 to 7:30 AM

A child from the Potter School mini-epi center was not tested even though the child's mother had tested positive. On Monday night Public Health Director Sam Wong told the BOH the child had been tested. The attending physician at the hospital felt the child didn't show any signs of illness and did not meet the CDC guidelines for being tested. Anyone who may have had contact with the child on the bus or in class is asked to voluntary quarantine.

the MWDN is reporting Mayor Spicer wipes down chairs and tables with disinfectant before meetings. She may well be the highest paid city employee who cleans. Can't be careful enough these days.

The local cops have agreed to not add to the problem and will only take into custody those who are charged with major crimes. Most will be summoned to court sometime in the future. Could we see OT at FPD finally go down? I still see details happening around town.

The City Council's first remote meeting. All the members could not be in the same room so half were connected via the web. Much of the time was wasted imo on the driver licenses issue and while a resolution was voted on, it makes no sense to weigh into areas that the CC has no authority over. While the idea may be a good one, for various reasons, it's all up to Beacon Hill and Baker has said he's not in favor of granting drivers’ licenses to undocumented people here illegally.

A 90 minute discussion on drivers license which as Jim correctly stated the council has no authority to implement when we are facing a virus that will kill some Framingham residents is a total waste of time how much time did they spend discussing what the city can do to promote feeding those in need, continuing to educate our kids and how to protect our residents? This is just an example of how disconnected most our councilors are

I thought the same.

I failed to mention, Daniel's Table received 10k pounds of meats from Walden Natural Meats. David Blais who started Daniel's Table says he will be able to make 100,000 meals to citizens in need. That's a herculean effort. I wish I could volunteer there, but both of us are in the high risk group of old people.

Wtf? This is what they spent time talking about? On the cops not putting people in lockup she decides who gets locked up and who dosen’t? Seems ripe for bias

If the cdc guidelines don’t include exposure to someone who tested positive then that is a pretty big problem

Hooray for Daniels table and Walden meat. We need to all do our part here. Is the Salvation Army or United way doing anything to feed people since they can’t run soup kitchens to feed crowfs

I do believe many restaurants who already did take-out will continue to do so. It may be their only source of income.

Geez... a big scam? How can you say that?

I do think this is a scam also. This virus was brought here by people from China. How else did it get here?

I don't think anyone would disagree with where the virus came from.. it was China for sure.
