HR director Hamilton finds work in Stow
So it comes as no surprise that the HR Director who had her salary cut starting later this year has found other work. This move by the council which was made to force the Mayor to combine school and city HR functions will surely be problematic and is questionable if it will save any money in the long run. Micro managing the Mayor and school department may sound good, but I don't see how this will help Framingham become more efficient.
You may remember that it was Ms. Hamilton who launched an investigation into Mike Cannon's abhorrent behavior with the Mayor and her administration. The Patch did a great job requesting emails from Ms. Hamilton and the investigator who interviewed the parties involved.

Does anyone blame her for leaving since the district council cut her salary effective January 1st? Did they really expect her to take that without any issues? You want good people you need to pay for them. Time for the district council to recognize that

Cannon is nothing more than a puppet for Stefanini so Stefanini feels obligated to back up his face for all the shit Stefanini wants to do to line himself up to be the next mayor. Never going to happen, He could not even carry his own district with a big majority he will never win a city wide election if you ask me. You cut the money to fund a position and you think the person in that position will stick around until she has no pay for her job? How stupid are our DCs? That is a rhetorical question, most of them are idiots in the opinion of everyone I speak to.
What is the status of those complaints against Mike Cannon? What a rude, uninformed and belligerent excuse for a man.
Anyone paying attention to dc meetings knows that they are nothing more than a front for political ambitions. King has absolutely no control of the council, and Stefanini will use that to take the chair seat away from King. Cannon is too stupid to recognize he is nothing more than a puppet for Stefanini, Case is leaving because he realizes how ridiculous it is to think you can actually get anything accomplished that is not in the interest of the Stefanin/Lombruno/Cannon crowd, and they belittle the two most honest councilors, Bryant and Morales. Our Health Director left because of his treatment by councilors, his replacement was denied because she was a black woman, the city’s FIOS person refuses to go to city council meetings because of the reputation they have of belittling and attacking anyone the Mayor appoints, numerous HR complaints have been filed against Councilor Cannon that King refuses to take any action on, and a number of department heads have left or retired so they don’t have to deal with the rude, dishonest, and dishonorable bunch who run our district council. And you try to pin the HR director leaving on the Mayor? Do you honestly think the residents of our city are stupid enough to believe that? If you do, then you are in for a very big surprise. Does not matter how much the Source tries to misrepresent facts, they are still publishing misinformation as fact. Most in this city have already caught on to that.
Glad to see you are back Jim. An HR Director who has no ability to rectify the issues of a sitting district councilor who has attacked numerous city employees is smart to jump from this sinking ship, especially when that same district councilor votes and promotes eliminating/cutting her salary. Why is no one doing a story on that?

I don't think the mayor is the problem. The district council cut her pay, not the mayor. Let's place the blame where it belongs.

Who will run the HR department when she leaves
Why would anyone want to come and work for Framingham government? Why would you want to work somewhere where the City Council will try to publicly embarrass you on tv? Why would you want to work somewhere where the City Council uses you like a pawn in their games for petty power and revenge? Why would you want to work somewhere where the City Council cuts your salary in half as part of their petty games? The good ole boy network could not handle an African American woman in charge of government where they can no make their secret deals behind the curtains. Their bruised egos can not take it, and they will ruin the CIty in every effort to lay blame on the non white mayor.
I think the city councilors disrespect women no matter the color of their skin. Shame on us for electing such bigots

He sure does. Perhaps the HR gal from the school side will be forced to take on the City's HR function, a disaster in the making imo. After all, a big selling point by the charter commission was for more efficiencies in our government.
Jim Pillsbury one of the main responsibilities of a Human Resources Professional is to handle conflict management. The school side HR woman looks like she can't even handle her own conflict management. Assault and battery on a cop and resisting arrest and needing to be tazed. I totally agree with you. A disaster in the making.

Don’t ever expect to see negative stories about the school department from the source. They are her bread and butter. They give her advance notice of school happenings before the other news outlets.
The school committee also trying to get rid of mayor since she tried to keep school spending in check. Mayor treats source like the blog that it is and so petroni and schools have a common enemy.
It is very clear to the outside observer that some on the SC and the Sauce have it in for the Mayor.
Much like the minority of City Council member's who at various moments look to drag her into the mud.
jim i believe you have nailed it. cutting the salary as a way to induce consolidation was a ruse. if the council was serious they would have applied some type of similar pressure to the school budget but they didnt. but its an excellent way to punish an employee who tried to teach cannon how to act like a respectful grownup.
Teaching Cannon to be respectful of women is a lost cause, and the city lost a valuable, experienced HR Director because the DC Chair, King, allows Cannon to do whatever he wants with no repercussions to him. I don't know who is worse, Cannon for being so immature, rude and disrespectful of his boss, the mayor, or King for allowing him to get away with it.
Yeah notice.. they left School Buildings and Grounds alone when they might have merged them with city facilities department. Could be big savings there. And they might have, if they had the courage, to eliminate just one assistant to the Chief of Police...100 k savings there.
Little man big ego issues. Cannon needs to grow up, but I doubt at this point that is ever going to happen. No woman should ever support a man like him.

he acts like a cop and has caused embarrassment to FPD and the City.
THatS to much money JIm. Councilor Cannon causes embarrassment to the Council and the CIty and only Does it for 5 grand.
