Lets see dirt

As expected, the media will have a filed day with the large amount of candidates for Senate and governor. And this is just the beginning.

Mihos gets whacked for 22,00 in penalties from the IRS for not paying 143K in taxes on time in 2006. A lien has been put on his mansion on the Cape.

Voting records of the candidates has come to light. Pagulia has not voted much since 2000, Coakley and Capuano have voted always.

Coakley is looking for all powerful women in the country to back her run for senate. Not surprising she is doing this and while I agree strongly, more women should be elected to office, they shouldn't be elected just because they are women.

All the candidates have until Oct 25th to gather 10K signatures to be on the ballot. For all of them, time is not on their side and with little money, candidates who don't have war chests to rely on, this may slim down the field by the end on the month.

War chests, as always, this election will come down to money and cronies. Who you know, and how much you are willing to grease the palms of those with the ability to get you elected. Coakley is the obvious leader, but I have not heard much from her on what her platform is. Where does she stand on the war in Afganhastan, on the Health Care bill, on bail out money, on bonus payments, on foreclosure, on extending unemployment benefits. If she wants my vote, she needs to show me what she will do for me. So far, she seems to be coasting on the fact that she is the recognizable name in the race.

Who will the Kennedy clan come out in support of in this race? That could be the make or break in this election. If they support someone as Teddy’s successor, that will carry an awful lot of weight in this state. Any ideas on where they stand on this Pillsbury?

Jim, Kennedy was opposed to Cape Wind. Where do these candidates stand on that issue? Figure you must know something about that.

Michael... ALL the candidates on the D side are in favor of cape wind.. not sure on the R's and I'll find out if Joe Kennedy supports it.

Tuff to call at this point Anderson.. so many announced players.. and none have the signatures yet to get on the ballot.

The K clan are waiting it out I think at this point.

Doreen... No one has heard much of anything from Martha.. only that she is playing footsey with mostly out of state money people... and mostly high powered women. Look for a Palose or Hillary endorsement soon.

If they all support Cape Wind, then how do we get that project back up and running? Seems that is something that will benefit many, not just with cheaper electricity, but will also put people to work to build and install these turbines. The greening of MA seems to be turing brown and dry due to lack of fertilizer (money) and attention. Can we do anything to get this project up and running?

Arnold,

In a report from the Globe, a non profit group, Environment Northeast claims that all the money spent by the government, utilities and others on efficiency programs, would not only save energy, but pumps money back into the economy, from $ 6.00 to $ 8.50 for every dollar spent.

In short, if 27 billion were spent in New England over the next 15 years, 180 billion would be re invested in local economies.

Cape Wind along with many wind energy projects continue to be blocked by the ignorance of just a few in our State, but there voices will soon be silenced by our own needs.
