The top wage earners in Framingham

The MWDN published an excellent review of the top wage earners in Town. The best part and most confusing is the interactive chart on the bottom of the piece. If you click a Policeman's name you'll see all the different categories these guys are getting paid under. I have no idea what most of them represent, but the numbers are staggering. I have asked the reporter to clarify those codes.
Have a looksee.. no wonder the new temporary management at FPD are making changes to what the FPD officers can do for their pay.

More than 4 mill in overtime to more than 600 people? What the heck is going on?

Well now I know where my tax dollars are really going. Not to educate my kids, not to improve the roads, not to make repairs to Town Hall, and not to do a whole bunch of other things this town needs to do. No, my tax dollars go to make police officers rich. After so many studies have shown that efficiency and quick thinking are all impacted when working too many hours, here in Framingham we pay police officers, who carry guns, to work enough overtime to double their pay. Ever wonder if that has something to do with all the issues we have with our officers?

That's a hell of a lot of money for one town to be paying in overtime. Sounds to me like there is some poor management in play here. How can we justify that much overtime in our budget?

Wait and see what the sick time numbers are.. it will astound you. How they in Fire can have so many of the same people taking a month off is just criminal. In year 2014, the Fire Department personal took over 1200 days sick time. Police have knocked down their numbers, but they too were around 900 days sick time.
I blame them all, from the passive CFO to the blind Town Manager and excepting BOS. Try as I did to convince my fellow Ways and Means members and on the floor of Town Meeting, it's a non starter as most are afraid of the cops and with firemen not coming to one's rescue.

Not much action here lately. Suprises me given the election coming up on Tuesday. Don't you have anything to say about that?
