Ever wonder where all that fentanyl comes from?

Nice eye opening piece in USA Today editorial on the opioid crisis. A few take aways: 80% of all the fentanyl seized by the US lawman comes from China, via... you guessed it... our US mail system.
For decades the federal and State Government ran drug sniffing dogs looking for pot and now that it's legalized, no more pot sniffing dogs. I'll bet they have them around, but wouldn't it be interesting to have them run through the incoming mail at the  Framingham post office for one day sniffing for fentanyl.  Although parts of China have laws against all "all fentanyl-like substances" being exported, local authorities haven't wanted to hurt one of the countries biggest industries...the pharmaceutical industries. So little enforcement is done.

Does fentanyl fall under that new trade agreement we are trying to negotiate with China? Maybe higher tarriffs on illegal drug imports would slow this down

good point. The pharma's are huge over there and I'll bet are worried over the tariffs for many of their products made there. Trump has so many issue's that he has brought to the table, tariffs being just one that many feel is hurting us.

So this is all coming in through US Mail? Instead of getting millions to build a wall to keep immigrants out, how about using that money to beef up the US Mail so they can prevent this stuff from reaching its destination. Illegal drugs that are killing our own people delivered to them by s US Government agency. How nice is that?
