Candidate forum 9.7.17, District 1 and 5 council seats and district 8 School committee.

We had a decent crowd for council 1 and 5 seats. Fell off for the school committee in district 8.
Three separate shows.
MWDN did a good piece on this as well...

Thanks for posting and thanks for doing these forums. Framingham needs the LWV and so glad to see you and Stephanie resurrect it.

Great to see these were recorded for those of us who could not make it. Wish you would do some of these on a week night. As a former TM member glad to see that the money we agreed to spend for the recording equipment at the library is being put to good use for the benefit of the community. Great job Jim.

I wish I could report that the money was wisely spent. I spoke in length to Mark about how difficult this would be for the Library to operate when it came to a vote on TM floor. I did vote for it..and knew it was way more than he thought it would be.
Keep in mind, they waited 3 years to do the upgrades to the room.
There's another complication in that control room closet. It's air flow and not enough air exchanges to compensate for the heat generated by the system and two human beings.
Their sound system is not the best it can be. Against my better judgement, we used their mics and room PA. It's just not loud enough for the people in the back of the room unless the speaker eats the mics..
The Library staff have been trained to use the equipment by Bill Rabkin who I admit knows how things work. The staff can't be expected to know how to produce broadcast TV, it's not in their wheelhouse. And if you don't use the system on a regular bases, you can't remember all the technicalities.
I spoke with Mark last night after the welcoming immigrants meeting and he say's he will get the vendor in.
We're doing 5 more forums from there and I hope we can make everyone happy both in the room, the viewers at home who will watch this on demand and on FB.
I have also asked Ron Rego to air all three shows. They really do belong on Gov TV.
