Cops going to the State Police, Planning Board Loomis leaving

I read today from the Source, 4 cops are leaving for the State Police. Two of the 4 are resource officers. I wonder how they all feel about working for such a corrupt State agency... do they even care? or is it just a chance at bigger pay checks and how much they can get away with?

Leaving for the State Police academy are:

  • Detective Francis Torres
  • Officer Eric Hayes
  • Officer Steven O’Rourke
  • Officer Scott Lucas

The  City stands to lose someone with extensive historical planning board knowledge with Ms. Loomis leaving for Lexington. I read a rumor that the Mayor may have had a chance to keep Loomis in the ED department.

Shame on us for not holding on to Amanda Loomis. With Long leaving the planning board her knowledge was even more critical to the board. I heard she applied, but could not convince the mayor she deserved the job. This is ridiculous.

I heard the same thing. Not sure why the Mayor would not hire Amanda.

I'm waiting for a journalist to ask the Chief why our City cops want to leave for the State Police. The Chief is quoted as saying "we can't compete with the State police", when it comes to retaining our officers.

Losing Loomis is a big deal. Bad mistake on the part of Framingham and we will live to regret this
