Some concerning Mass State news
while I wait for the vote... I thought I'd share a few things that will make you shake your head.
The State agency in charge of issuing state licenses (Division of Professional Licensure), has issued licenses to various people with serious criminal records and even registered sex offenders.
I guess we have to do our own backround checks on people we let in the house.
Our own Suzanne Bump has come out and openly criticized the Governor for not providing enough cyber security to the DOR (Dept of Revenue) to protect of of our sensitive informtion. There's legislation filed that would direct 600 million to IT infrustrucure.
We say good bye to Colonel Kilpin. She gets a nice 6 figure retirement, after 25 years and walks away with 82k in unused sick and vacation time

More examples of the failure of our governor. I suspect as these stories continue to come out he will not be seeking re-election after this term. And if he does seek re-election, I hope all of us don't forget the stories like these highlighting what a poor job he is doing running our state agencies
Failure of the registry resulting in at least 7 deaths we know of. Failure of the MEs office resulting in murderers getting away with it. Corruption at the State police so bad that one police barracks was completely closed down. Repeated failures at the Dept,. of Children resulting in harm to our children. Now this new report about giving licenses for business to people who are sex offenders, and failing to protect our IT structures when we know that those things are the targets of people out to do no good.
Our courts are a mess, our cops are corrupt, and are elected officials are incompetent. Yet people say we have a good governor. And we wonder why people are still supporting Trump. They have convinced us that these failures are ok.
I say they are not. I hope your readers will also.
and they still are at it on CNN. Nothing at all new...just more of the same thing.. over and over again.
Baker is a poor excuse for an executive. He is either completely incompetent, or asleep at the wheel, and neither of those options bode well for us taxpayers.
Yeah... the DCF thing was just in the news again. That older couple now being charged with years and years of abuse of many children in their care, yet they (the older couple) somehow passed inspections.
I don’t see how Baker can successfully run again. Any thoughts here on who will be running to become our next governor in 2022? Do you see Spicer in that race?
I could see Karen Spilka or AG Healy
Curious about what happens now in light of Bumps’ report. Does the Governor have to do anything, or can he just ignore this as he ignores everything else?
Spilka is not someone I thought of, but you are right Jim,she would be a logical choice for a democrat to run, as would Healy. But what say you on Spicer throwing her hat in the ring for this seat?
Baker is a republican operating with an overwhelmingly democratic legislature. Why don’t our legislators do something about all these messes? They have the power, right?
Is there any honest and responsible elected in MA at the state level? I can't think of any
Kilgpin got $82,000 for unused sick time? How the hell many days is that, and why are we rewarding people for not being sick? They should not need to take all their sick time so why pay them when they don't? Private industry sure as hell does not do that.
it's all tied into the union contract.
The Legislature does have the right and the power to look into anything... but don't want to upset their own party loyalists who vote for them every few years.
The House looks into the RMV, only after 9 people are killed in NH.
Not a fan of Baker. But do you honestly want a Democrat as governor? Isn’t that putting the fox in charge of the hen house? How many hands will be in my pocket taking my money? Will any wrong-doing ever even be looked? Fat chance.
