What's open and what can't be.. Gov Baker orders

Liquor stores are considered essential along with pharmacies and medical marijuana dispensaries, but not recreational marijuana stores... after all this time that has past since voters approved recreational marijuana in 2016...Baker still is against marijuana users. If stoners can't get their flowers legally, the black market will fill the void.

from the City:

FRAMINGHAM, MA- Earlier this morning, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts issued an order to cease all non-essential business. Effective immediately, Simple Recycling, the City’s vendor for curbside textile collection (Pink Bag Program), notified the Department that all collection operations are temporarily suspended until further notice.

Please do not leave pink bags at the curb as they will not be collected.

Weekly trash and recycling collection will continue as usual.

WTF on recreational dispensaries? So the drinks can get theirs but stoners have to go without? How is that fair?

Why no bag pickup? Trash and recycle are getting picked up can’t they just grab the pink bags?

my guess... there are two people to a truck that pick-up
then the clothing is brought to a central place where it is sorted by many more employee's. This stuff can wait.

there may be an uptick in the amount of people getting seriously ill from vaping black market cartridges. Not to mention the fact that more people will be drinking and driving and domestic violence may increase.

feel free to write to the Governor with your concerns at:

I think we have more important issues than our pink bag pick up. Thanks for keeping us informed Jim. Much appreciated

You raise a valid point about getting sick from black market products. Creating a life threatening situation to prevent another life threatening situation. How is that a good thing?

I was just learned from a radio show that the reason Baker added liquor stores to the essentials list is that the Governor is afraid of all the boozers who can't get their alcohol could end up in the ERs with the DTs. That makes more sense than the statement the Governor put out saying, the pot shops are too busy with out-of-staters creating crowd problems, in our few pot shops.

At a time when hospitals need ventilators for the very ill who have contracted the virus, adding more potential patients needing ventilators for vaping related illnesses, seems to be short-sighted.
