MSP union sues Baker over vax mandate

The boys in blue are asking a Suffolk Superior Court to pause the mandate to allow collective bargaining. The mandate (the same for State workers) requires all of them to be vaxed by Oct 17th or could be fired. They don’t have the choice for a work-around… nor should they. Baker’s plan requires some 42k state employees to claim medical or religious exemptions by Oct 17th or get the shots.

Those guys who come face to face with the public, except for the detail officers and why should they get more money in their pockets for protecting us and themselves.

Baker must take a stand. I suspect there are more cops who have refused to get vaxed than we are being told.

And I'll bet most of you can guess the leading cause of death in law enforcement... yup.. it's covid 19. A report by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund states that 71 officers died nationwide as a result of covid 19.

The Globe did a piece on the report but it's a paywall. This piece from Florida explains it for free.

Even the State House will now require vaccinations.

After a passionate debate that pitted Republicans against Democrat, the House passed an order requiring all members and staff to be fully vaccinated if they plan to work out of the State House, reports State House News Service's Matt Murphy. The order, passed 131-28, was cast as one of the first steps toward reopening the building to the public.
