Chris Petrini is leaving on June 30, this year.

 You had to know this was coming. The Mayor clearly signaled his intentions to reduce the legal fees. As you may remember, during the budget talks, some on the council asked why the legal expenses were going up. At one point I believe the council wanted their own lawyer, early in the Spice administration. And you can't say Chris didn't do his job and was not loyal to whomever paid him. As an outsider, I couldn't possibly know the amount of legal questions that Chris has had to deal with. Like the Eurie Stamps killing, the theft of the evidence room at FPD, the numerous lawsuits against the Town now City by cops who didn't want to be told what to do, to the SMOC lawsuit. Chris has seen it all.

Chris goes so far back, John S. and Charlie S. were selectman.

Come budget time you may see a new legal budget with a much smaller retainer and perhaps they may want to hire their own hired gun. I hate to see him go. He has always answered any question I had with class and respect.
