Rules changes for the Council?
Just what I expected from John. The agenda is changing for Charlie. No way will Charlie have to sit and wait his turn, near the end of the meeting like the past Mayor had too.It was always troubling to see the past Mayor or COO be so far down the list, especially when there were always more questions to answer.
Charlie can't stay up that late for meetings, it's not good for him and it's not good for conducting the people's business when everyone is tired and wanting to go home.
I'm not in favor of the council meetings lasting past 10PM.
There is a code of conduct, but nothing about the meetings being recorded.

John let me know that it is in there about recording meetings.
The last sentence of Rule 13 covers this and reads as follows: "Absent any unforeseen difficulty, technical or otherwise, all meetings of the council shall be recorded and broadcast live."
Jim the city council isn't bothering to even hide the difference in how they are publicly treating mayor Sisitsky differently than mayor Spicer. The council put the african american woman who was not part of the ole boys network at the back of the bus, while they now put the old boys network white man at the front of the line.
I agree completely with the previous poster's comment. They shocking part to me is that the members of our city council think that the residents of Framingham are not smart enough to see this. Shame on every single one of them for their bigotry, and shame on our new mayor for not opposing this change in process, making him as much of a bigot as the rest of these people.
I see Mike Cannon has invited the new officers of the LWV Framingham to the meeting. Funny, he never once invited the old officers even thought 2 of them were his constituents. Another example of the power of the people who control Cannon's puppet strings. It would be comical if it were not so sad to see a grown man jump through hoops set up for him by yet another grown man. Too bad these two poor excuses for a real man could not grow some balls. Am I allowed to say that here?
So the city council allows on/profits to appear before them. What exactly is the purpose of that? The KWV can not make any statements in support or opposition to what the council or any of its members do so what is the point. Hope every single non-profit in the city asks for the same thing
Here we go. Phil’s vote against Christine shows you where his loyalty lies. He served with Christine for years and then votes against her. I have lost the little respect I had for Phil. Shame on him
Interesting comment about allowing all nonprofits to have time on the council agenda to introduce themselves
good point on the non profits.. and we have our share.
Phil has always run a good meeting... I guess Steiner could not get the votes needed.
Surprised Phil didn't vote for Christine
Nice to see how nice they were to Charlie..
Janet's reasons for being the second chair were laughable. She's the Tom Smykowski of the Framingham city council.
the meeting is here: http://207.172.210.8:5002/CablecastPublicSite/show/2482?channel=1
The council has shown it's support for non-profits on the agenda. Cannon had the new LWV's president on for 7 minutes. I'm sure the rest of the non-profits in Town would like to be heard for 7 minutes talking about their own plans.
Since you don't have to be registered to vote to be a LWV member, I wonder why anyone who is a member of a group encouraging people to vote, would not themselves be registered.
The FB picture of the president holding a scribbled sign with the treasure by her side was very disappointing to see. All the years we had done in making the League look professional have been tossed out the window.
Anyone know if they actually registered any voters? I doubt they did or they would have been bragging about it I am sure. A bunch of misfits trying to look like they know what they are doing . Sad to see
I had to look up who Tom Smykoowski was. The poster nailed it with liking her to the useless guy from Office Space!!
I had too as well.
who is the treasure by the lwv woman?
Curious as to why the League was never invited to City Council these past four years? Suddenly now it occurs to them to invite them? And for what reason other than to allow those who hijacked the League to take a victory lap? Though it's a nonprofit, it's still a nonpartisan political organization dedicated to educating the public about candidates and campaigns. That still has no place for discussion at a CC meeting.
Phil does run a great meeting. Very efficient. I'd rather him in charge than a number of the others, though I don't like that Janet is third in line to be mayor.
