Revalations from the Mayor and CFO about water billing

So we don't have to stay up late to watch the Mayor's report now. His report is near the beginning of the council meetings. And what a revelation that was heard from the Mayor and CFO about why we have had such a drop in water billing. The CFO and Mayor suggest the problem started in 2017/18. We know now that for the most part, large commercial water users were not billed correctly because of faulty meters, untrained water department employee's for programming water meters and the lack of oversight everywhere in the accounting of water bills. At one point the Mayor is heard saying the programming of water meters has never been done correctly. He and the CFO say this problem will not effect the 18k households in Town. And when fixed later this year, water rates could come down.

My guess is that this issue with meters, software and billing was around way before 2017/18, but as the Mayor pointed out, no one can be held accountable, not even the manufacture.

Jim is Charlie saying that the meters just mysteriously just started failing when Mayor Spicer took office?

This is just another round of blame the other guy. Shameful behavior on the part of the current administration and I would have to say I am surprised by Sisitsky taking this position. King, Steffanini, Cannon and Leumbruno are lost causes who would not know the truth if it bit them on the nose, but I had more faith in the current mayor, obviously misplaced

Multi million dollar issue did not just happen. These issues existed when the selectmen just kept kicking the can down the road. Nice to see the can exploded at the feet of the former chair of the selectmen, right where it belongs.

My take is that the CFO looked at what we are paying for water and what we are billing.

Interestingly, the last water expert brought in by the past administration missed something in his assessment of our problems.

I'd like to know what Peter Sellers has to say about the faulty water meters.

My question is, how much money can the Town recover from those commercial users who haven't been billed correctly.

Wasn’t Charlie bring back Peter Sellers? Or was that more bullshit fake news out of the Source?

Why are you picking on the Source and saying it made fake news. The Source didn’t say anything about Peter Sellers coming back.

didn't the past administration hire a water rate expert? Didn't he say we needed rate structure overhaul and raise the rates by double digits to break even?

Got our water bill yesterday and to no surprise it was 70 dollars more last quarter.

I thought Charlie wanted Peter back as well.

Looks like all bullshit Jim. The word was that Sellers left because he didn't want to have to deal with Stefanini. Stefanini still there.

Just saw the comment about the Source. Like I always say, you get what you pay for. There is no charge for the Source and that is a perfect example of what it is worth. I recently was picking up a to go order in a local restaurant and was waiting at the bar for the food when I overheard a conversation between 2 people sitting there. One was quoting from something he said he read on the Source, and the person he was addressing, as well as the bartender, both said you believe what you read in the Source? That is how it is perceived by those not interested in fake news, which thankfully is most of the residents of Framingham.

Is Source fake news or biased news? I have never seen a reporter act like Susan Pertroni does. A reporter reports the news and thats it. She comments on all the facebook pages where she posts her stories. WHat other reporter does that? It is how a blogger behaves just like Jim here. He posts a story and then interacts with other commenters. That is a blogger. So its biased news not fake news.

Its fake news when she leaves out pieces of a story making the reader wrongly jump to the wrong conclusion.
