Joe Kennedy is running?

I'm sure all of you have read that a Joe Kennedy, a libertarian, not related to the Kennedy clan, has thrown in his hat for senate. He has to gather the same amount of signatures and has little funding, BUT.. consider the fact that in the past 10 years, many voters who have not paid any attention to the news, have voted for a deceased legislator, an indicted elected official and supported candidates for name recognition only.

If this Joe were to get on the ballot, I think, many would not know the difference.

Check out his page and platform..... http://joekennedyforsenate.com/

He speaks volumes to me. Can he as an outsider be good for Mass?

Wouldn’t that be something if this unknown gets elected simply because he has a name that everyone associates with someone else? Whoa, old Teddy would be turning over in his grave at that one, a Libertarian winning the seat on the coat-tails of old Teddy’s name. Could be a pretty interesting contest to watch.

Joe Kennedy for Senate. Has a nice, familiar ring to it, don’t you think? A Libertarian yet. Must be right up your alley Pillsbury.

Joe's running as an Independent... with libertarian leanings...I've not known him from the past when I ran as a Liber.. .but isn't it refreshing not to hear from Carla Howl and company.

I'm going to help collect signatures for him...

It would be the new Mass Miracle if he got in...Coakley would die.. and Ted would haunt the other Joe Kennedy for eternity for not running.

Point of thought Jim. Is it better to support the person you believe in, even though that person has absolutely no chance of winning, so you are wasting your vote; or do you support the lesser of two evils who has a chance to win if they can get enough support, thereby making your vote count? I know the argument for voting your conscience, but in these times when so much is at stake for all of us, I am leaning toward supporting someone who has a real chance to win. Maybe that is a vote against someone more than a vote for someone, but isn’t their a valid argument for that approach?

Good information here so far, keep up the good work. Sounds like you are supporting this unknown with the right name for the job, going out to get signatures for him. Hope to hear more from him. If he truly wants the job, he needs to do more than count on the name to get him elected. Money talks and he is at a disadvantage there so unless he gets his ideas in front of the constituentshe doesn’t stand a chance.

Coakley is the only candidate that is worth voting for. Who cares about the rest of them? She is going to win by a landslide.

Defeated... lets see, but if she is, it will not be because she is qualified or experienced, but rather of her sex and her support by the D machine that continues to rule our State with great ambivalence to the greater good of the working class majority that is not connected to any party.

Look for some dirt on here before this is over.

I appreciate your mentioning my candidacy and would like to offer my opinion. I believe a wasted vote is a vote for a person who will not listen to and properly represent your views as a voter. In the past few years both parties have spent an increasing amount of time arguing with each other and propping up big business. Representatives spend more time on their own reelection or their next position than they do reading the bills that determine the laws of our great nation and the livelihood of its citizens. A vote to be properly represented is never a wasted vote.

Thank you for the mention, your support is greatly appreciated.

Joe
