Quinn funding gets ugly.

In what some say will be a trend for towns and cities across the State, 8 Boston Cops are suing the City for up to 10 million dollars, for bonus money they say they deserve after pursuing college degrees.

As Ms. Hall said at TM, this is another unfunded mandate that will never go away here in Framingham.

Quinn bill issues are going to haunt us for years. At town meeting someone said we could get sued if we did not fund it. Looks like that is happening in other places. So my questions is, if these cops lose their law suit, then can we stop funding Quinn here in Framingham?

I just got my new tax bill. Thanks to the idiots at town meeting, in a year where I am unemployed and out of unemployment benefits, my property tax bill is going up $71 a month so I can pay for the cops to go to school. This is beyond ridiculous.

At some point, in the not so distant future, Framingham will be broke and we won’t be able to pay for Quinn Funding, even though we say we will. So what happens then? Is that the only way to get us out from under these unfunded mandates, have the town go bankrupt?

You bet Help... the question will be, does TM have the kiyoons to just say no?

Friend... you and I share the same thoughts... as do many in Town.

FinF... you may be right there. I wonder if any of the smaller Towns in this State have thought about it.
