Governor Baker being sued by pot shops

It was inevitable that recreational pot shop owners who face certain demise of their start-up businesses would take legal action against the Governor and his stand allowing liquor stores to branded "essential", while closing what few recreational pot stores there are in Mass. One Veteran is also involved with the suit, claiming that many users like himself worry about the repercussions of getting a medical card and being in the State's data base for all to see.

I agree Baker needs to focus on saving lives which he now knows his hand picked administrator out at the Veterans home in Holyoke failed miserably to protect those defenseless veterans from the virus.
But to leave open liquor stores and not pot shops is hypocritical and may cause harm to the patients who have a card already.

There's no reason why the pot shops couldn't use per-order on-line and pick-up outside the store as well as a 6' spacing between customers outside, as many grocery stores now do.

I don't use pot, but I think it is extremely discriminatory to allow liquor stores to be open and not post shops. And the governors reason has many holes in it. Afraid of out of state people crowding the shops? Then just say they are only open to MA residents who can produce proof they live in MA. Problem solved. Besides which, to cut off a revenue stream in this time is ludicrous.

ahhh that is too funny and sadly... all to true for most of us who live with someone.

There are only so many businesses open now... and none of them pay 3% of the sales to the host community. People will always find a few bucks for a beer or a joint.

now some gun store owners are doing the same. I do think it is wise to classify gun stores non-essential.
