The budget is done... read for yourself where the money goes
I know some of this just makes your eyes watery reading but if you pay taxes in this Town perhaps looking at these url's will answer some of your questions and perhaps cause you to question why some things were postponed and others funded. Questions should be directed to your councilperson.
You can also see the meetings on demand if you go to meeting portal http://framinghamma.iqm2.com/citizens/default.aspxand click on city council finance sub committee meetings to see how they arrived at their decisions.

Go to the top of the pages where it says Automatic, open and hit actual size to read them more clearly.

We are screwed. 9.5% water increase and at the same time a reduction in the water and sewer budget. Who the hell is thinking long term? Certainly not the council
See they are using 1M from pot revenue Jim. Did they send you a thank you note for that?
I read this morning in the Patch that the money expected from the Feds is less than we were expecting/hoping. Is that going to impact this budget, and if so, by how much?
I am wondering at the cuts to the school’s proposed budget with the teachers contract still not signed. Does that mean contract negotiations are mute since there is no money in the budget for a raise for teachers? Any insight on that Jim?
I see the Mayor announced a 9.7% increase in water and sewer rates to fix the fact that the selectboard just ignored these issues for years. So now all those supporting a former Selectman for Mayor are trying to say this is not the case but if you listen to the consultant, that is exactly why we are in this position. Did the Mayor raise rate, not in the first 3 years but she has the guts to do what has to be done this year, in spite of it being an election year. I am for all candidates being willing to run, but I keep expecting them to tell the truth and it seems that is too big an ask for most of them
Thanks for ousting these links Jim. Makes it simple to find thing even though it is not pleasant to read about how much has been kick down the road leading to this mess. And then the council kicks it down the road again. Disappointing
One of the selling points by the Charter folks was that the budget would be transparent and efficient. The new software may be glitzy but pie charts have never thrilled me.
Anyone working class family should be aware of how our tax dollars are being spent. I spent to much time trying to figure out where everything could be found, so at least got the url's posted.
I'm not sure what is happening with the teachers contract. My impression was they would find a way.
As far as I know, the two part fed money has not been reduced. Tune in tomorrow night to see what if anything has changed.
Watching the mayor’s meeting on water and sewer. We are losing a big asset to Framingham with MEK leaving. Anyone know why? I heard she is fed up with rude and dishonest councilors. Is that true?
Only the rich can afford to live in Framingham but what rich people would want to live here?
I agree, MEK leaving will be a huge loss. I feel sorry for the temp CFO who will come under fire from those council member's who are trying to make the Mayor look bad.
After watching years of meetings where MEK is put upon by the council's attack dogs, I wouldn't blame her for not wanting to put-up with such disrespect. I hope she spills her guts and tells Deloris Hamilton why she is leaving so early in her exit interview.
I as well as many TMM's will miss her.
Is there anything new that might come out of tonight’s meeting on where to spend the money from the Feds? Should’t The taxpayers make that decision?
Just like any Fed or State money, they make the rules and we must abide by them. If we left it up to regular taxpayers, everyone would want lower taxes, which the money can't be used for. I'd rather see that money go to the water fund so we don't get hit with 20% rate hikes in water and sewer.
Informative stuff. Actually, I'm also a student and find out the solved or answers to my syllabus questions & landed here. I would also single out The Outsider by Albert Camus - a novel of lineserved.com that overturns the idea of the meaningless and accidental. Its a fact you have also shared an enjoyable and informative piece of content here. Anyways, thanks for sharing the nice piece of stuff with us.
